When Forgiveness Feels Impossible
Forgiveness isn’t just a nice idea—it’s non-negotiable for anyone following Jesus. In Matthew 18, Peter tries to impress Jesus with his “generosity” in forgiving up to seven times. Jesus? He flips the script: Seventy times seven. Translation? Stop keeping score. Start canceling debts.
🔥 Forgiveness isn’t optional. We love to hold onto offenses, justify our bitterness, and wait for an apology. But Jesus makes it clear—forgiveness isn’t a suggestion; it’s a command.
🔥 Your debt was bigger. Jesus tells a parable about a servant who owed the king an impossible debt—$26 billion worth! The king wipes it clean. But instead of showing that same mercy, the servant hunts down someone who owes him pennies in comparison—and throws him in prison.
🔥 Unforgiveness holds YOU hostage. We think refusing to forgive gives us power, but it actually traps us. It’s like carrying a maxed-out credit card—the weight of that debt follows you everywhere. Jesus says: Let it go. Cancel it.
🔥 Forgiveness isn’t approval—it’s freedom. It doesn’t mean what they did was okay. It means you refuse to let it control you anymore. Some of us are holding onto $15,000 worth of offense, forgetting that God already forgave our $26 billion debt.
At Mission Church, we don’t cancel people—we cancel debts. Because forgiven people forgive people. If you’re ready to break free from the weight of unforgiveness and step into the future God has for you, watch now and start canceling the debt today.
